Collaboration & Process

Songwriting with other people is a separate skill from songwriting alone, and most of the difficulty is not musical. It is knowing how to hand someone an unfinished idea, how to say a line isn't working without making it personal, and how to keep a session moving when you and your co-writer are in different cities and different time zones.

These guides cover the working side of the craft: running a remote co-write, giving and receiving feedback on lyrics usefully, and building a routine that keeps you writing when nothing in particular is inspiring you.
